The Pandemic: Covid-19

Sequel to the announcement that His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State was tested negative of Covid’19 after it has been confirmed by NCDC that he has contracted the deadly virus earlier on. He revealed that he used natural medicine while he was in the isolation center. According to him, the combination of the black seed, honey and carrot were used.  The materials used above fall within the domain of natural medicine. Unfortunately, when I, Dr Abdulahi Opeyemi, heard about this news, I wrote to the Osun state Governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola through his SSA on media and publicity advising him to employ natural medicine to compliment the conventional medical treatment given to the victims of Covid’19 at the isolation center located at Ejigbo, Osun State. Whereas; there has been no response so far. I also approached several conventional media houses in Osun State to discuss how Covid’19 could be combatted using natural medicine. But, to my surprise, they said they have been given directives that nobody should discuss anything about the virus except the NCDC and ministry of health. I have also listened to many doctors featuring on national televisions that the news of  Governor Seyi Makinde using natural medicine to cure Coronal virus should be disregarded and that it doesn’t have any scientific backing. Federal Ministry of health and Presidential task force on Covid’19 has as well made this statement to falsify it and discourage people from believing it. As a result of this, I, Opeyemi Abdulahi, as a practitioner of natural medicine with more than 20 years of experience and practice saw it as an obligation to communicate to the public and enlighten them on how they can help themselves and others in promoting their health. It is clear that the Nigerian Dental and Medical Council do not want people to know this truth. So I felt that if Nigerian government and its officials do not want to listen to us, then it is apposite to communicate directly to the people who are always at the receiving end.
